Tourism boosted by Quarantine revisions

The Airport and Aviation Sri Lanka Ltd. says following the revision of the existing quarantine regulations, the number of tourists arriving in the country has seen an increase.

Deputy Chairman Rajiv Sooriyarachchi said the revision in quarantine regulations has been both beneficial for Sri Lankans and as well as foreign nationals.

The Deputy Chairman noted, flights are now operating as per usual and the reduction in the mandatory quarantine period from 14 to seven has resulted in a bigger influx of tourists.

He said it has allowed foreign nationals more days to explore the country.

Sooriyarachchi stressed, development has major economic benefits for the country and said he expects in future even more foreign nationals will arrive in the country after obtaining the COVID-19 vaccine.
